Luthor es derrotado y parece que muere en la batalla, aunque se muestra que a sobrevivido; la batalla le cuesta a Luthor su presidencia. Luthor es el archienemigo de Superman, su primera aparicion fue en Action Comics #23 en Abril de 1940 y al igual que Superman, fue creado por Jerry Siegel y Joe Shuster. Sus objetivos se cifran tipicamente en eliminar a Superman y obtener la dominacion completa de el mundo.
